Deleting projects, tasks, and sections

Remove items you no longer need in Workly by deleting projects, tasks, or sections.

Delete a task

  1. Open the task or right-click it in the task list
  2. Select Delete from the actions menu
  3. Confirm the deletion

Deleted tasks can be restored using the undo action that appears briefly after deletion.

Delete a section

  1. Click the section menu (three dots on the section header)
  2. Select Delete Section
  3. Choose whether to delete the section’s tasks or move them
  4. Confirm the deletion

Delete a project

  1. Open the project
  2. Go to Project Settings
  3. Click Delete Project
  4. Confirm by typing the project name

Warning: Deleting a project permanently removes all its tasks, sections, files, and data. This action cannot be undone.

Who can delete

  • Tasks — Task creator, assignee, or project admin
  • Sections — Project admin
  • Projects — Project owner only

Undo deletion

After deleting a task, an undo notification appears briefly. Click Undo to restore the task immediately.
