Customising project colours and appearance

2 min read

Assign unique colours to your projects in Workly to make them easy to identify at a glance in the sidebar and across the app.

Set a project colour

  1. Open the project
  2. Go to Project Settings
  3. Click on the colour indicator
  4. Choose from 15+ colour options

The colour appears next to the project name in the sidebar, on the project header, and in dashboard cards.

Available colours

Workly offers a curated palette of 15+ project colours, including blues, greens, reds, purples, oranges, and neutrals. Each colour has a distinct shade that stands out in both light and dark themes.

Section colours

In addition to project colours, each section within a project can have its own colour. This helps visually distinguish between different phases, sprints, or categories within a project.

Why use colours

  • Quick identification — Instantly spot the project you need in the sidebar
  • Team alignment — Use consistent colours for project types (e.g. red for urgent, blue for product, green for marketing)
  • Visual organisation — Colours make the dashboard and sidebar more scannable
