Setting due dates and scheduling tasks

2 min read

Due dates help your team stay on schedule. Workly makes it easy to set, track, and manage deadlines across all your projects.

Set a due date

  1. Click the due date field on any task
  2. Pick a date from the date picker
  3. The due date is saved immediately

Due dates in Calendar view

Tasks appear on the Calendar view based on their due dates. You can:

  • See all deadlines at a glance in weekly or monthly view
  • Drag tasks to a new date to reschedule
  • Drag unscheduled tasks from the sidebar onto the calendar

Overdue tasks

Tasks that pass their due date without being completed are marked as overdue. Overdue indicators appear:

  • In the task list with a red date indicator
  • In the Calendar view’s overdue sidebar
  • As notification reminders

Upcoming deadlines

The project overview dashboard card shows upcoming deadlines — tasks with the nearest due dates. This helps you prioritise what needs attention soon.

Filter by due date

Use the filter panel to filter tasks by due date range. Set a “from” and “to” date to see tasks due within a specific window — useful for weekly planning.

Date custom fields

Beyond the main due date, create Date custom fields for tracking additional dates like start dates, milestones, or review deadlines.
