Using list view

4 min read

The list view in Workly shows your tasks in a detailed table format. It’s the most data-dense view, letting you see and edit multiple task properties at once.

Table layout

Each row is a task. Columns display task properties such as:

  • Task name
  • Assignee
  • Status
  • Priority
  • Due date
  • Custom fields

Click any cell to edit it inline — update assignees, change status, set priorities, or modify dates without opening the full task detail view.

Sort tasks

Click any column header to sort tasks by that field. Click again to reverse the sort order. You can sort by name, status, priority, due date, created date, or any custom field.

Group tasks

Use the Group By option to organise tasks into groups. You can group by:

  • Status — Group tasks by their current status
  • Priority — Group by priority level
  • Assignee — Group by who the task is assigned to
  • Section — Group by project sections

Each group is collapsible, making it easy to focus on specific subsets of tasks.

Customise columns

Show or hide columns by clicking the column settings icon. Drag column headers to reorder them. Add custom fields to display project-specific data in the table.

Add tasks

Click the + Add Task row at the bottom of the list to create a new task. Type the name and press Enter. The task is created with default values that you can edit inline.

Sections in list view

If your project has sections, they appear as group headers in the list. Tasks are displayed under their respective sections, and you can collapse or expand each section.
