Every Physical Meeting in Workly is recorded automatically with live transcription running in the background. You don’t have to remember to press record — it just works.
Auto-recording on start
The moment you click Start Meeting, Workly:
- Starts capturing audio from your microphone
- Begins live streaming transcription
- Shows the Recording chip on the meeting
You don’t need to enable anything — recording is part of every physical meeting.
Mute and unmute
Use the mic button on the meeting controls to mute or unmute. The button shows a clear icon and tooltip indicating the current state.
Live transcription
Workly’s streaming transcription runs alongside the recording so the AI has fresh text to work with the moment the meeting ends. There’s no separate setup.
End the meeting
Click End Meeting to stop. The recording status changes from Recording to Recorded, and Workly starts processing the audio for summary, minutes, and action items.
Replay the recording
Open the meeting detail page after the call. Inside the Recording section you’ll find the playback player with:
- Play / pause
- Timeline scrubber
- Volume control
Multiple executions
If you start the same physical meeting more than once (i.e., multiple sessions), each run is captured as its own Execution. The meeting detail page lets you pick which execution to view from the dropdown — defaulted to “Latest (Most Recent)”.
Don’t lose your recording
If you try to close your browser tab while a physical meeting is active, Workly shows a warning: “A physical meeting is in progress. If you leave, the meeting recording will be lost.” Stay on the page until you click End Meeting.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to press record manually?
No. Physical meetings have auto-recording enabled, so recording starts the instant you click Start Meeting.
Is there live transcription?
Yes. Workly runs streaming transcription in the background during the meeting so the AI has fresh text to summarize the moment you end the meeting.
How do I replay the recording afterward?
Open the meeting detail page after the call and find the Recording section. The player has play/pause, a timeline scrubber, and volume control.
Can I have more than one recording on the same meeting?
Yes. Each time you run the meeting it’s saved as a separate Execution. The meeting detail page has a dropdown to pick which execution to view, defaulted to the latest.
What happens if I accidentally close the tab?
Workly warns you that the meeting is in progress and the recording will be lost. Stay on the page until you click End Meeting.
